Proud title sponsor of the Belfast Renegades.
Our name on the shirt of Belfast’s cup-winning ice hockey team for two seasons, and a new Shopify store behind the club. At the heart of it: men’s mental health through sport.
Invisible Building is the title and official shirt sponsor of the Belfast Renegades, Belfast’s cup-winning men’s ice hockey team, for the next two seasons. We will be supporting them from the sidelines with our name on the shirt, and behind the scenes as their technology partner, building a new Shopify store to sell merch, grow the fan base and bring the Renegades community together. Underneath it all is something we care about: men’s mental health through sport.

An hour on Facebook and YouTube. Then a very easy yes.
A lot of Invisible Building’s work comes through Facebook business groups, and that is where the sponsorship opportunity first appeared. David’s first reaction was the honest one: what a cool jersey, what a cool sport, and what a marketing opportunity for a small studio.
Then he spent an hour on the Renegades’ Facebook page and on YouTube, learning about the Nigel Smeaton Memorial Cup. It is the cross-border competition between teams from Ireland and Northern Ireland, founded in 2023. The Renegades won its A Division in the first season and again in 2025–26. Watching the footage from Dundonald International Ice Bowl, and the photos of the team and their kids on the ice lifting the 2026 cup, settled it.
In David’s words: “I 100% knew this was the opportunity that Invisible Building was waiting for.”
Not only do we get to support an incredible sport and a successful team, but we also get to support men’s mental health through sport.

Official shirt sponsor. Big collaboration.
What we’re doing
Three things: a name on the shirt, a new jersey on the ice, and a store behind the club.
-
Title and shirt sponsor
Invisible Building is across the chest of the Renegades’ jersey for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons, alongside Bar South Sports, GHBK Design and returning sponsor Vacuum Hospital Bangor.
-
The new alternate white jersey
We are providing the team’s new alternate white jerseys: gun-metal shoulders to match the crest, bold black arm stripes, the signature red bands and performance sweat-wicking fabric. They take the ice for the first time this season.
-
Technology partner
We are building the Renegades a new Shopify store: somewhere to sell merch properly, build the fan base and help grow the community around the club. It is what we do every week, this time for a team.
A fixed night of the week, and people who notice when you’re not there.
Amateur team sport does something for men that very little else does. It gives you a fixed night of the week, a changing room, and a group of people who notice when you don’t turn up. Nobody calls it a mental health intervention, which is probably why it works.
We have seen the same thing from the other side through our work with LooseHeadz, rugby’s mental health charity. Sport is often the only place some men will let their guard down. Backing a Belfast club where that happens every week, and giving it the tools to grow, sits squarely alongside the rest of our Tech for Good work.
The Shopify store matters here too. Merch is not just revenue for an amateur club; it is how a fan base becomes visible, how kids end up in the jersey, and how a community forms around a team. A club that can run that itself, without it eating volunteers’ time, is a stronger club.
Let’s go Renegades.
-
The Renegades unveil the new alternate jerseys and announce Invisible Building as their new sponsor.
-
We will be down at the Ice Bowl watching the lads, and the white jerseys get their first outing.
-
Season one on the shirt. The new Shopify store launches. More on that when it is live.
-
Season two. Same shirt, bigger community.
We wrote about the announcement in We’re the new title sponsor of the Belfast Renegades. If you run a sports club, a charity or a community organisation and want a store that works as hard as your volunteers do, start with our Shopify consultancy.
The Renegades story, as it happens
Written along the way, as it happened. Nothing tidied up afterwards.
