A Small Update, A Clear Intention: Our New Events Page

Exploring the latest trends and strategies shaping e-commerce in 2026. Stay ahead with cutting-edge insights and actionable advice.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been quietly adding more structure to the Invisible Building website — not just in how it looks, but in how it reflects how we actually work.

One of those additions is a new Events section, now live on our website and evolving over time.

It’s simple on the surface: a living list of industry events we’re attending across Ireland this year. But behind it is a fairly deliberate shift in how we want Invisible Building to show up in 2026. You can see it taking shape on our Events page.

Why an Events Page?

Last year, I didn’t get out to many events.

A mix of startup burnout, the design scene feeling unusually quiet, and me being a little more introverted than usual meant I spent more time head-down than out in rooms with other people.

That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing — a lot of important work happened in that quieter period — but it did leave something missing.

Invisible Building has always been shaped by conversations:

  • hearing what business owners are struggling with,
  • seeing what other studios are experimenting with,
  • getting a feel for where culture, design, and commerce are actually moving.

The new Events section is a small but intentional way of committing to getting back into those spaces.

What You’ll Find on the Events Page

The Events page is designed to be useful, not performative.

It currently lists:

  • Upcoming events I’m planning to attend
  • Past events we’ve already been part of
  • A mix of Shopify, design, food, culture, community, and creative industry events
  • Mostly Ireland-based, with the odd exception

It’s not a marketing calendar or a highlight reel. Think of it more as an open log of where Invisible Building is learning, listening, and staying connected — all captured in one place on the Events page.

If you’re heading to the same event, it’s also an easy excuse to say hello.

A Simple Goal for 2026

Nothing dramatic — just consistency.

This year, I’d like to make it to at least one industry event per month, and keep the Events page updated as a lightweight record of that commitment.

Not to “network harder,” but to stay grounded in real conversations:

  • what’s working,
  • what’s broken,
  • what people are actually asking for from Shopify partners and digital teams.

Those insights feed directly back into how we design, build, and advise our clients — and over time, they’ll quietly shape what appears on our Events page too.

Got an Event to Recommend?

If you know of a good event coming up — big or small — I’d genuinely love to hear about it.

Drop the name in the comments, send it my way, or point me in the right direction. Community-led events, niche meetups, and things that don’t feel overly polished are especially welcome.

If you’re curious where I’m heading next, or want to see what’s coming up, the Events We’re Attending page is always up to date.

You never know — we might even run a few Invisible Building events of our own before long.
