About This Event
Craicathon is a one-day creative hackathon bringing together builders, designers, and Irish language enthusiasts to experiment with new ideas for Gaeilge.
The event invites coders, artists, musicians, writers and curious minds to form teams and create projects that explore Irish language and culture through technology.
Participants will spend the day designing and building ideas such as Irish language games, translation tools, browser extensions, interactive storytelling projects, and experimental digital art inspired by mythology and tradition.
The event is designed to be welcoming and collaborative — you do not need to be fluent in Irish or an experienced developer to take part. Teams will be formed during the day and there will be support through mini workshops and mentoring.
At the end of the event, teams will demo what they built and prizes will be awarded for the most interesting ideas.
Craicathon is part of a growing movement exploring how technology can support the future of the Irish language.
