Creative Direction Gets a Boost from AI Personas
We recently created 25 user personas to explore how different customer types perceive our Invisible Building homepage. Instead of just writing these personas as dry bullet points, we used ChatGPT to imagine their thoughts, needs, and even how they might speak.
And then — we brought them to life visually.
What We Learned from These Personas
The Tech-for-Good Founder
This persona values purpose and ethics as much as design. Seeing “Tech for Good” front and center increased trust and resonance.
Takeaway: Feature a “Tech for Good” badge or case study with impact stats.
The TikTok Brand Creator
Bold visuals, scroll effects, and modern tone immediately resonated with this persona.
Takeaway: Use subtle animation, embedded reels, and auto-playing UI demos.
The Shopify Store Owner
Wants proof of platform expertise and results, not just aesthetics.
Takeaway: Add Shopify metrics and “Before/After” screenshots to your service page.
The Local Retailer
Appreciates friendly, simple onboarding with jargon-free messaging.
Takeaway: Build a 3-step “how we work” explainer section just for small businesses.
The Government Lead
Looks for credibility, professionalism, and past collaborations in the public sector.
Takeaway: Expand the About page with real team credentials and impact partnerships.
The First-Time Founder
Needs extra context, reassurance, and a clear explanation of the process ahead.
Takeaway: Offer a “New Founder Toolkit” that outlines timelines, budgets, and lingo.
Rapid Mockups and Instant Feedback Loops
We’re now using ChatGPT to:
- Draft copy for landing pages, email flows, and onboarding screens
- Create test user journeys and microcopy for different tone-of-voice experiments
- Map SEO keywords to specific service sections in seconds
This saves hours of solo brainstorming and unlocks more time for craft.
Branding, Strategy, and UX with a Human Lens
Most agencies use AI to automate. We’re using it to deepen our empathy and bring a more human lens to every layout, form field, and CTA we design.
The Future of Client Work
Imagine showing a new client a gallery of relatable customers that feel like their people. That’s where we’re heading.
This AI persona tool is currently used in-house — but we’re preparing to evolve it into a standalone SaaS that helps other designers and agencies simulate their own audiences with voice, emotion, and story.
